This project is a partnership between DPWords and Jiffy Lube, focusing on the theme: Every Part Matters. We will be creating murals on one wall of six Jiffy Lube buildings. Artist’s designs will be chosen and DPWords will coordinate and facilitate the murals.
This is an opportunity to showcase local artists’ designs, beautify the communities with original public art murals where the Jiffy Lube locations exist and encourage viewers through positive words and images while expressing DPWords’ mission and Jiffy Lube’s programming: Growing People Through Work.
DPWords mission is “Positive words empowering people through art and education.” – We use the power of positive words to build, sustain, and empower community through strategic arts partnerships, mentorships, events, and education.
Growing People Through Work provides people a chance to build better lives for themselves. One of the most important parts of this program is the use of the industry’s only Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified training system to teach people skills they can use to further their career at Jiffy Lube, or even in a different organization. Discipline, time management and integrity are just a few of the program’s key components.
Proposals must be inspired by the theme “Every Part Matters,” visual elements can speak to this idea in a wide variety of ways, interpreted by the artist. Incorporating positive words is encouraged. Proposals should be 2-dimensional in design and submitted as a jpeg, in a rectangular format, measuring approximately 8” tall x 24” wide and no more than 6mb. No application or registration fees required. Electronic submissions only. Submit designs at dpwords.org under the CALL TO ARTISTS link. Artist’s designs will be used to be translated by DPWords and volunteers onto the walls or panels that will be mounted on Jiffy Lube walls.
